Job Posting: Assistant Pro

ASSISTANT TENNIS PROFESSIONAL (PART-TIME)

The Rockcliffe Lawn Tennis Club (RLTC) in Ottawa requires a part-time Assistant Tennis Professional for the 2009 summer tennis session (May 1 to September 30). The RLTC has eight courts - four HydroCourt clay courts and four hard courts in addition to a recently renovated Clubhouse that serves more than 500 members. Members participate in Round-Robins, Stroke of the Week clinics, Tournaments, Club Ladders and Inter Club play as well as take private, semi-private or group lessons.

The Assistant Pro will work under the direction of the Head Pro in the delivery of on-court tennis instruction and programs on a part-time basis for the Club throughout the 2009 tennis season by conducting private and semi-private adult lessons, round robins, group lessons and helping with the junior program. 

The qualifications and duties of the Assistant Pro include the following:

Qualifications and Duties: The Assistant Pro will

  • Be a certified Tennis Canada Professional with at least an Instructors level certification, be a current member of the Tennis Professionals Association (TPA) as well as have experience as a teaching professional with strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Foster a dynamic, positive, and enjoyable tennis environment by assisting with the organization and presentation of tennis lessons, special clinics and round robins, etc. and by becoming familiar with the level of play of all members and provide advice on their game improvement when appropriate.

Salary & Compensation: Commensurate with level of qualifications and experience and competitive with local standards.
